Diet Product Contains Cialis
Posted: Tuesday, 25 August, 2009 | Categories: Cialis
A dietary supplement has been discovered to contain the erectile dysfunction medication Cialis after the FDA launched an investigation into the product.
After laboratory tests, the FDA have announced that the STEAM supplements are being recalled. This follows on from an earlier recall of the pridct at the end of July after the treatment was shown to contain Viagra, or sildanafil.
The tests showed that the capsules contained tadalafil, a medication that should only be used with a doctor’s prescription. When taken by patients using nitrates found in some medications, including nitrogycerin, it can cause blood pressure to fall to dangerously low levels and also cause problems like headaches and hot flushes.
Patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease are at particular risk if they take tadalafil without a doctor’s supervision.
The capsules, sold in bottles containing 5 tablets, did not declare the medication on the list of ingredients.
The FDA have asked that any customers who bought the product stop taking it and let their doctor know if they have experienced any side effects. So far however no one has reported any ill-effects.
